Operating responsibility is the key for a sustainable business. We in Oberthur Cash Protection recognise that we work in a resource constrained world so we are evolving our business to adapt to the challenges.
In 2016, Oberthur Fiduciaire has taken the decision to commit to a constant effort to reduce its carbon footprint by implementing a sustainable management program, Earth 365, for all activities carried out at our banknote production plants. This programme covers a wide range of topics such as the reduction of our carbone footprint and energy consumption, recycling, human rights, fair operating and labour pratices, etc.
Oberthur Fiduciaire's determination to limit its carbon footprint took a new turn on 1st June 2020. Indeed, since that date, our Rennes plant has been operating 100% thanks to renewable energies.
In Oberthur Cash Protection we are proud that our business is developing and with this success comes an even greater responsibility to minimize the environmental impact of our operations. It is a challenge that we are continually looking to respond to as we endeavour to meet our growing customer demand.
OCP have high standards in everything we do, some examples of measures aimed at reducing the impact on the environment would include:
The environmental impact is not just on our facility in Dijon, in fact the impacts on our supply chain are greater so we look to:
- Encourage suppliers to support standards of sustainability
- Look to reduce ‘Supplier Miles’ by working with local suppliers where ever possible
These are just some of the ways in which OCP is working to evolve the business and continue to reduce our environmental impact going forward.
